THE STORY
Jack Johnston is an ordinary, young Australian bloke with a seemingly ordinary life—until the day he feels a jolt, sees a bright light, and hears the words: The Department of Truth. FROM THE AUTHOR 
I loved writing this book; as just like someone reading it, I waited with baited breath for the next amazing place, image, or concept that rose from the creative process. It follows its own course, mimicking a spiritual journey; keeping one questioning, and the reader off kilter like Jack. It was a risk in a first book, but the spiritual journey is one of challenge and oft times confusion.
I have sought to share what I see and what I love in this adventurous symbolic story. To this end, the book seeks to comment on our current reality and looks forward to glimpses of what could be, all the while exploring the nature of existence and truth. Something of such complexity needed complexity, hidden symbolism, and the crazy ride to do these themes at least some justice.
The Trilogy of The Department of Truth, grows with the second book “Expectations of Happiness”, and finishes with a mind warping crescendo in “The Halls of Certitude”. There is so much packed into these books that they bear reading a number of times. A study of various parts and discussions with others will bring so much more of the content to light. I hope they will be used in groups.
The Department of Truth’s core theme is existential search for truth. The second book, “Expectations of Happiness”, concerns itself more with personal transformation, the deeper reality of our life, and of happiness. “The Halls of Certitude”, the third book, will deal with the collective human journey forward, the renewal of community, and the unity of the human race.
I hope you enjoy “The Department of Truth”, and the whole trilogy. These books have much to give.

The Department of Truth (DOT) is a fantastic book that inculcates all features required in an adventurous, fantasy with a meaningful story. The author takes you to this journey through words, creating an imagery that mesmerizes the reader, making you feel part of the story. Although it is situated within the Australian context, it relates to people everywhere. That’s the “MAGIC” of this book!
